why invest in El Cajon
El Cajon, meaning "the box" in Spanish, is a city located 17 miles (27 km) east of downtown San Diego in San Diego County, California. Named after Rancho El Cajón, the city’s name and common nickname, "the Box," refer to the valley’s box-like shape that surrounds it. El Cajon was incorporated as a city in 1912 and was known throughout the early 20th century for its agricultural production, especially of grapes, avocados, and citrus.
During the 1960s and 1970s, El Cajon was home to Frontier Town at Big Oak Ranch, a popular frontier-themed tourist attraction with simulated shootouts. The park closed around 1980 and has since been converted into residential housing.
Cajon Speedway, a 70-acre racetrack, operated from 1961 to 2005. Founded by Earle Brucker Jr. of the El Cajon Stock Car Racing Association and later managed by his son Steve Brucker, the speedway was known as "The fastest 3/8-mile paved oval in the West." Following its closure, the site has been preserved as a historical landmark with the original entrance sign on display.
